Le vent qui concluait In Asche souffle à nouveau au début de In Feuer ("I") mais son intervention ne suffit plus à guérir les plaies car il se confronte à un feu inextinguible : celui de la passion. Elle est au cœur de cet album et le black metal dépressif est tendu. Mais ce feu est aussi liée à la souffrance, à la cruauté humaine : Raash chante des prières obscures ("II") et rit de manière psychotique ("III") ; Abkehr nous rend spectateurs d'une immolation par le feu.
